That’s the point: it was very hard not to buy them. And it is a constant attention to ask "can I fully use this without an app and without connecting it?".

Sometimes, it is not even possible : some items don’t exist anyomre without integrated wifi. Or the version without wifi is the lowest-quality one.

@ploum we don’t live in the same world if you can’t buy a seat, flush, and ventilation for your toilet that doesn’t require an app. I agree with the rest of the article, but these specific examples are very poorly chosen.

I didn’t say it was impossible. I just say it requires constant vigilance, especially when you work with someone working himself with subcontractors.

You have to be on the lookout for every single appliance. And, sometimes, a seller might tells you frankly that they don’t have anything without wifi in their catalog.
