Fun lizard detail:

Many years ago, I noticed that Igor apparently has a *really* well-tuned biological clock. Most mornings, he gets up some 2-5 minutes before all his light and heating comes on, sloooowly trundles out to his usual basking space, "deflates" in that way lizards do when they relax, and then everything turns on around him.

I wondered if he was responding to something he can sense and I can't or if he just has a really good sense of time, and the thing that convinced me it's the latter is ... daylight savings time.

When we skip an hour back or forth, he gets really confused for a week or so, and either gets up way too early or too late, and then he adapts and goes back to being reptilian clockwork.
